About us
Who we are.
FoHF has its head office in Jinja District, Eastern Uganda with its operational company property in Buyende District, about 48 km Lake Kyoga, a specie-rich ecosystem being affected by deforestation mainly from search for fuelwood energy and inefficient charcoal production methods and technologies. FoHF is growing biomass energy crops/trees on an 83 acre piece of land with intent of efficiently converting such biomass to green charcoal. FoHF using a system’s approach in raising and nurturing high energy content seedlings, planting, tree management and efficiently carbonizing the wood while not having a net carbon dioxide concentration increase due to increased tree planting and dedicated coppices management. Fountain of Hope Forestry envisions an energy secure community, diversified community livelihood sources, ecosystem resilience and biodiversity and climate change adaptation. The main activities at FoHF include, but not limited to:
Nursery management and tree production;

Plantation establishment and management;

Efficient green charcoal production through the casamance technology;

Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration and apiculture.

Cassava Farming
